  1. Not really. It is the job of the union to obtain and maintain wages comparable to other companies, palatable working environment, dental/medical insurance, sick leave and vacation days, etc. Even with such an employment environment that is ideal, only the union members can make an improved product. If the job becomes mundane doing repetitive work yet you can't leave because it's the best pay in town, product quality will sag. I would like to give an example but everybody is suffering because of the economy. Everybody is trying.


  2. labour laws may, well defined labour laws may but not unions, empirically they hav done little to improve standards of work and to promote work culture with that on company's back and they struggling for employment sometimes and sometimes uniform demands, i cant get how efficiency is promoted

    sometimes though like in a co-operative etc. by improving living condns, ny gettin trained by producing better,by imposing work standards they might push positively, but such cases only appear on t.v.
