Whenever you live in a home with common walls, you can get the sounds of babies crying,  lovers fighting, or angry people yelling at you to "turn your tv down".   The worst is when you live above someone. Even when you are only walking to the frig for an apple,  it sounds to the person downstairs that you have an elephant for a pet and he's stomping his feet.  A sign of poor construction but guaranteed to make the person shout at you thru the walls.  

If it's happening to you, it's the poor construction; not your fault.  Or the neighbors are a little disturbed.
