  1. basically yes  you will need to get that code to play the game on another computer but it would still work and intall if you didnt need the code

  2. CD keys are unique codes you get when you buy a game that tag your copy of the game as yours. Most games that use CD keys (e.g. Starcraft) allow you to install the game multiple times on different computers at the same time, however only one instance of the game with the registered CD key can play online at a time. For example, if Computer 1 is playing Starcraft online via Battle.net, Computer 2 (which used the same CD key as Computer 1 did) can't play on Battle.net until Computer 1 gets off.

In other cases (such as Bioshock) CD keys are used to prevent illegal distribution of the game, by making sure only one copy of the CD key is being used at any given moment (using online registration).

  3. It's for security purposes so that it reduces p****y.

But, of course, the scene finds its ways, resulting in the birth of key generators which are easily found with a simple Google search.

  4. well sometime the serial code can be shared ( the sims 2 for instance ) but some serials you may only use them once on 1 computer so if your going to buy a used game  do some research beforehand. the serial code is basically making sure you actually buy the software in steed of just downloading the setup and all the files from some website.

    HOPE IT HELPS
