Do vegetarians use/eat gelatin?

I'm just curious as to if it was okay for vegetarians not including veg@ns, to use/eat gelatin products. I know veg@ns don't.

  2. Vegetarians cannot eat gelatin, it is connective tissue.

    You can get products which use agar agar in the place of gelatin.

  5. Nope.  Gelatin is made from the bones, connective tissues, and hides of slaughtered animals.  It is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
