  1. No they don't and no they aren't. It's a stereotype. Having a protein deficiency would be really hard to do.

BTW, wouldn't it make a nice change if (**) made an actual contribution to this board, instead of copying and pasting another user's answers and then taunting him for not being a vegetarian?

Especially as s/he's not a vegetarian either. Unimaginative, repetitive, tedious AND hypocritical - the whole package!

  2. Do Pamela Anderson, Alicia Silverstone, Alec Baldwin, William Shatner, Bob Barker, Lindsay Wagner, Linda Blair, Daryl Hannah, Woody Harrelson, etc. look like they are lacking in anything?

NOPE!! And I am no exception.

  3. Only the ones who don't plan their diet out properly. In other words, junk-food vegetarians/vegans where they eat only the processed vegie foods or snack on chips etc.

Other wise, that is a total stereotype. :)

  4. no deff not

    they just dont eat meat

plenty of other foods have protein in them

    that they can eat

  5. No. If someone is lacking protein it's because they have a terrible diet and not because of the diet's designation. In civilized countries a protein deficiency would be a rarity.

  6. I dont know about vegitirians; but as for vegetarians, no.

  7. Sometimes vegetarians can have a hard time consuming enoegh protein. Most will compensate by taking a supplement. I recommend Klamath Blue Green Algae, which provides a very high amount of protein. It helped me.. heres a link

  8. The average vegetarian does not lack protein. In fact, it's almost unheard of to have a protein deficiency. Read The China Study. That should answer all of your questions about protein and the misconceptions surrounding it.

  9. Protein is not the issue for Vegetarians or Vegans. The issue is B 12 and that is easily solved by eating Nutritional Yeast and Tempeh. As for the rest of your alleged question  -- it appears to be more argumentative and prejudicial  than substantive.

  10. I became a vegetarian a year and a half ago. So did my husband. Twice since then I've have complete chemistry profiles done (blood test) which showed that all my levels are very good. I have noticed that my complexion is fairer. The redness is less on my cheeks. But I think it's because my skin is clearer, less acne, and it's less sensitive.

The average American eats three times as much protein as is recommended by the ADA. By being mindful of the correct food combinations (beans and rice together, for example) a person can easily get enough protein. It's not hard at all.

I feel healthier now than ever before in my life.

  11. No. If someone is lacking protein it's because they have a terrible diet and not because of the diet's designation. In civilized countries a protein deficiency would be a rarity.

I'm not a vegetarian or vegan. Just trying to share my worldly knowledge from my mom's basement.

  12. Some may get anniema from lack of iron, but if vegitarians wanted to increase their protein intake they should eat nuts, pulses and eggs

  13. no

  14. I really, honestly don't think so.  If you eat stuff like eggs, and milk and stuff with a lot of protein, but not meat, I think vegetarians are fine.  =)

  15. v-e-g-e-t-a-r-i-a-n-s do not have a lack of protein. In fact most vegetarians are fitter than meat eaters. To bulk up for Spiderman 2, Tobey Maguire went on a totally veg., tofu diet.

  16. only if they dont eat right. i eat a lot of beans, eggs, and dairy

  17. Vegetarians and vegans get more protein than they need.  Look, as long as someone gets enough calories, and they aren't all junk food, it's almost impossible to short on the protein.  You don't need that much, really--only .3 to .5 grams per pound of body weight.  Too much protein, and you lose calcium from your bones, and it affects your kidneys.

As for your other two questions.  They're pale if they use a lot of sunscreen and refuse to tan.  And the ones who have dark circles under their eyes probably don't get enough sleep.  But then there are doubtless omnis who also have the dark circles under their eyes from a lack of sleep.

  18. Vegetarians do not have a lack of protein. Meat is not the only food that contains protein, there are many other foods that are packed with protein. Here is a list of foods that contain protein:

    almonds

    black beans

    brown rice

    cashews

    garbonzo beans

    kidney beans

    lentils

    lima beans

    peanut butter

    pinto beans

    seitan

    soybeans

    soymilk

    sunflower seeds

    textured vegetable protein

    tofu

    veggie dogs & burgers

    ***************************

Also, the pale skin and dark circles are just a stereotype. If you are a healthy vegetarian, eat foods with lots of nutrition, then you shouldn't have a problem.

    Hope I helped :D

  19. No. Those things are stereotypes that have no basis in fact.

  20. Start reading labels and see what has protein...almost everything does.  I just has a whole wheat pasta salad and had 11 grams of protein.  Earlier I had a handful of cashews which had 5 grams of protein.  This morning I had organic eggs and those were 12 grams of protein.  Lack of protein??  I dont think so

  21. no

vegetarians get protein other ways like beans and nuts

and u can eat protein bars if u feel like your not getting enough

p.s meats not the only thing that has protein

  22. NO!

America is so overly concerned with protein its ridiculous. The American rda for protein is double that of the world one. Yes its important, but its in practically everything, not just meat! Same thing with milk. Americans all think they need so much milk because of the got milk campaign, the 3 a day or whatever campaign, and advertising. It all goes back to money. Humans need cows milk no more than we need goats milk, dogs milk, or giraffes milk.
