**** did I put down photon? I meant instead of a bunch of mirrors reflecting maybe there could be water or a giant magnifyer to heat up a central geodisic heliostat

heh? 13 feet is a quite a lot of glass. I don't think water would amplify the photon power. I think what you would want a reflector. you can make a big dish and line it with foil that will reflect and focus the sunlight to a specific point. this has been done very successfully. in Africa they make little ones for heaters and and to cook food. you can find them all over youtube.com  be careful as they get very hot.
