I was wondering if videogames or anything where it takes alot concentration causes you not to sleep well when you goto bed? Because after I play my video games at night. I worry alot and my mind is still kinda stressy so I can't sleep good. It takes me like 3 hours to sleep while just laying their in bed. I don't know maybe things that cause me to concentrate are making me more anxious. Could this be reason why I can't sleep?

  1. no if u r tired from play then your braine automaticlly fall asleep

watch a movie at night is the best way 2 fall a good sleep

  2. we have the exact same problem dude. when I'm tired and i try out a new video game, suddenly I'm not tired anymore and i stay up for 15+ hours playing it. this goes on for days if i keep finding interesting games.

so to answer your question, yes, video games cause sleep deprivation...probably not for all people, but from what i read, we certainly do.

if you needed help falling asleep, i can't help you with that because i have the same problem.

and if you're thinking 'wow, this dork has no life'

i can't disagree with you xD

  3. well when i play a new game and then i try 2 sleep i cant cause i just keep thinkin of the game

  4. Ok, well it could be part of it. I used to have that problem. I actually used to be addicted to video games, i would literally play them ALL day and it screwed up my mind and it also kept it quite active, causing me to lose sleep. But i mean, i still can't sleep and i haven't played video games for the past week maybe even longer. So it could also be just because you have too much on your mind causing you to keep yourself awake but the video games might also play a part in it, ORRR you might have insomnia. But if you think it's because of playing video games late at night... try not playing them so late for like maybe 2 or 3 days and see how that goes, kinda experiment a little bit and see what helps =)

  5. I'm not sure.  It depends on the type of games you're playing.  I dated a guy who was addicted to Xbox 360 and online gaming (that's why I broke up with him) and he sometimes had trouble sleeping, but it wasn't because he was anxious, it's because he was hooked and would stay up all night glued to the screen.  So that's probably your case, like you might be a competitive person and you're addicted to winning or going to the next level.  So, you created this vicious cycle in your head, the urgency to keep playing and that's probably why you're anxious.  If you can't fall asleep, read something really boring or try masturbating, I'm not kidding you, if you m********e, you're body will release these natural pleasure chemicals called endorphins after having an o****m.  These endorphins relieve stress and help the body relax more.  It really helps me when I'm stressed and can't fall asleep.

  6. While it depends on the person, Video Games do not necessary cause insomniac symptoms nor can cause drowsiness at night...  same goes with TV, videos & music.

However, it's possible that the stimulation can cause you to increase your brain activities.  I have to say it's the stress you're dealing that's causing you to say up pondering over the items that are stressing you out.

Usually when I have a lot of things on my mind, I just can't settle down & sleep until I deal with them.  I would suggest trying to deal with the issues keeping you up (like writing them down somewhere).  I also prefer to sleep in the darkest bedroom available since I tend to get photosensitive at night.

    Hope that helps you out!

  7. My doctor told me i had trouble sleeping because i was watching television before going to bed. Because of the light and stuff from the t.v. is fools my mind into thinking its still day time. Stop playing video games before you go to bed and see if it helps.
