Do vinegaroons eat scorpions or chase them away?

  1. I've never heard of this insect before, but I did some research:

    I read somewhere that they eat crickets and large insects. A vinegaroon is a type of scorpion, so I don't think it would eat its own kind. Unlike most scorpions, it chases them away with its whip, which hence its other name, the Whip Scorpian.


  2. They are predators.  They are large so I suspect the would eat certain species of scorpions.  Their natural defense mechanism is to spray a vinegar smelling solution.  Combine with size this makes them fairly safe from most predators.
