my parents think they're just like eating lollies, and you would get more benefits by eating potatoes, oranges and other fruit.

  1. Your parents are right.  The best vitamins and minerals are acquired through a balanced diet.  If you have a balanced diet you don't need much in terms of supplements.

That's why food supplements are called just that - they are supplements only and are not meant to replace whole foods.

  2. they do help ur immune system and my sister takes them and never gets sick

  3. food in it's whole, un-manipulated and various forms - is the greatest supplement of all. Personally, I'm not sure if this is correct. Vitamins are like an insurance policy - you pay your premiums never knowing if you'll get your moneys worth. Is it possible to eat a nutritionally correct diet (for YOUR body and lifestyle) without any form of supplementation?

  4. Chewable vitamin C supplements damage tooth enamel and aren't the recommended form or quality mate..... vitamin C taken as a powder can be mixed with water to make a flavored drink and don't contain any damaging sugar........  choose a powdered form of vitamin C that contains bioflavonoids which will increase the power of vitamin C 10 fold..... the best way to get vitamin C is to eat fresh citrus fruits such as lemons, limes and oranges, or leafy and green vegies, strawberries, blackberries......  fresh and natural will always the most nutritious and easiest to assimilate for your body.

    hope this helps u

    peace 2 u

  5. It used to be enough to eat fruit and vegetables, but the quality of the fruit and vegetables is so bad nowadays that supplements are necessary. You don't have half the vitamins you used to have in them.

    All the best to you!
