  1. I've heard that they do.  You don't want to be rude to your waiter or waitress.

  2. Oh I am sure if it.

A former coworker of mine used to work at a fine dining resteraunt in town.  She told me that one night a guy came in minutes before closing and just after they had cleaned the grill.  The guy ordered a steak, ( it was close to 10pm), the cook, in retaliation took the steak and wiped his a ss with it, cooked it and they guy ate it.

So never go to a resteraunt just before closing, never send food back and never ever be rude to your waiter or be incredibly demanding. They have the power over you (what you eat and what you don't know you are eating!)

  3. Regularly? Most definitely not.  I have worked in a couple different restaurants, and that is not something that anyone I have worked with would do.  If a manager (or really, another employee) saw someone doing that, they would not work again in that restaurant, and most likely, not in any restaurant ever again (assuming future prospective employers call for a reference).  Am I saying that it has NEVER happened? No, I'm sure there have been bitter servers that have done such things, but again, those are VERY FEW and far between.

What I will say, is that servers in general have very good memories, so if you are rude and demanding guests (and/or tip very poorly), the server will remember that, and if you happen to be sat in their section again, you can expect to receive service accordingly (you might have to wait longer for the server to get over to you, get refills, etc).  They're going to spend their time on tables they know will tip, not ones that are rude/don't tip well.  I'm not necessarily saying that its the right thing to do, but it definitely happens.

  4. have you seen the movie "waiting?"

  5. I served wih a guy once who was being treated like a piece of s*** by some high-powered businessman.  He finally got so fed up with him that he fixed him a refill and took the straw into the employee bathroom and peed through it before putting it in the mug.  Watching that dude drink that soda was one of the funniest things I have ever seen...

  6. the cook sneezed

  7. I doubt servers spit in food and drinks of whiney customers on a regular basis.  It's not worth getting fired to get revenge on someone who ticked you off and it would suck even worse if that customer tried to sue you or the restaurant you work for.

  8. Regularly no in fact I would say it more like rarely happens. Very few waiters/waitresses would take the chance of being fired or worse doing something like this.

I know we have all heard stories about some one sending their food back and it being spit on or something worse. Most of these are stories either made up by someone or made more personal by someone who heard it by say their friend who is a waiter/waitress say it happen.

The only true story I know about something like this happening. Was from a waitress I worked with. The place she had worked before one of the waiter had spit in a guys food. The manger found out and fired him on the spot and went out and grabbed the plate from the gentleman who had received it and apologized and explained what had happen. The gentleman called the cops and the waiter end up being hauled out if cuff and spending the night in jail.

  9. maybe....thats why I never complain at restaurants or treat the waiters bad because they are trying to do their best to serve you.But there is alot of ignorant people who dont appreciate the service they are getting.

  10. No we don't. as long as you don't make tip jokes :]

" do you charge for rice? "

    "yes we do sir"

"thats ok, ill take it off your tip"

and then i cough up a lugi

  11. I've been in the restaurant business for two years now and i have never come across a situation  like that  yes servers may have had the occasional customer that they wish they could have spit in their food but the server honestly doesn't have a chance to  because as soon as the food is cooked it is put up in a food window to send out to the customers and there is a manager that monitors that window. so you have nothing to worry about. the only opportunity they would have is to do it there in front of you, and trust me they would be fired and wouldn't work in the food industry again
