  1. I wonder how many waiters at Pappasito's in Houston are going to come across this question.   Well as a former waiter myself, rolling silverware was a requirement for all waiter/server jobs I have seen.  And I have worked at, at least 20 different restaurants.

  2. It comes with the territory.   Get over it!

  3. Your kidding, right?

How hard is rolling silverware? Is it too much physical effort? I used to manage restaurants back when dinosaurs ruled (the 80s). Waiters and waitresses rolled silverware. It wasn't very difficult and took each one maybe 15 minutes to do their share. It is typical slow work. If you don't like it try getting another job.

Good thing you weren't hired as a dishwasher because you might not want to wash pots, or as a prep cook because you hate chopping vegetables.

  4. Yes.  It is common practice for servers to roll silverware during slow periods.

  5. Are you serious? Really?

It's that way at almost any restaurant that doesn't use a spork.

If that is a deal-breaker for you, then you need to go get into daddy's checkbook and see if you can make it last for the rest of your lazy life.

What's happening to America's work ethic?

  6. At least you are not cleaning toilets!
