  1. I don't know if we absorb it, but I like to take a shower  before and after swimming, so that should reduce the risk of whatever. I've been swimming for ages, never had any problem.

  2. yes i think so, but i think your fine swimming because not much chlorine is absorbed

  3. why do you swim 4 hours a day? morning and evening practice? that's overload especially this late in the season.

The chlorine level in the pool is very low. A high concentration of chlorine can kill you if inhaled, but the chlorine used in the pool is for disinfecting the pool and for your protection. There is not enough chlorine to harm you.

I know personally that my pores have absorbed the chlorine when I was swimming 8 practices a week. In gym class, when I would sweat a chlorine odor would emit. You are safe :-)

  4. The chlorine is absorbed in your bathing suit.

The chlorine wont hurt you in some way because they put very little chlorine just to clean it.

    Good Luck!

  5. I swam all four years of high school...no problems.

You will notice your skin is drier and smells of chlorine.

If you have long hair, invest in some anti-chlorine shampoo and conditioner.

    Otherwise, you are fine.

  6. I should hope not !

    I go swimming 4 times a week!

It probably gets on your skin - hense the smell you might notice after your swim?

but i reckon a good wash afterwards will get rid?

  7. i think a little bit does, but it won't matter, or else there would be a swimming epidemic, and u and me and SO MANY others would be part of it. however, u should shower fairly well after swimming, that's common sense. also, i have heard that chlorine can make ur hair paler and whiter, especially if u are blond.

  8. Don't worry about it cause chlorine won't be absorbent so you're safe swimming=)
