No, you need no VISA to visit the UK.

No, you can visit on a visa waiver for up to 6 months, you fill it in on the plane.....have a return ticket though, it helps show you intend to leave.

If you are a US citizen you do not need a visa to visit the UK. You just need a valid passport.

Nope, no visa only a valid passport.  To get passport, go to your local clerk of courts ofc for application.  Costs about $85.00 and takes about 2 months to get a passport.

Visit England and enjoy, it is truly a wonderful country.  Pack lightly.
