my husband and I (both active duty A.F.) are PCSing to Italy at the end of this year. Do we both get OHA, just one of us or is it 1 gets full OHA and the other gets partial. I am hearing lot of different answers from people and would like to know the answer from someone who is actually overseas and married to a military member and receiving OHA. I am not interested in "I think...maybes..." Thanks for your answers in advance!"

  1. 1 servicemember gets it Full, the other does not.  It's your choice, go with the higher rank!

    Hope this helps!

  2. Far as I know only one gets OHA.  Remember you also get COLA over there.

  3. It will be on the LES of whoever holds the highest rank.

  4. only one gets it no partial

  5. OHA is different to BAH.  OHA is based on the amount of rent you are paying, nothing more than that.  Only one person in the house can get OHA, so you will not both get it. There is no partial OHA at all.   There is a separate allowance received each month for utilities.
