Do we come to this site for entertainment, or just to blow smoke?

Question

If someone needed to talk to another person secretly. Would it look weird to whom -ever read it beyond its intended destination? When you ask or answer here knowing others will read what is in your head, and judge you by points. Is this what this site is really about? Telling another that they need communication skills, or calling them a weirdo. This is the paranormal ? Ghosts, and Aliens are scarry. To honestly talk about them is a sencitive issue. It takes time to know just how far one can go with this. Or decide that this site needs fluffy bunnies.

I find people that dont believe in the paranormal, nor understand it..will make fun of others...but then most of us are here to research it further, and compare our experiences...some things i hesitate to talk about..but that doesnt mean it doesnt exist

I think you still need to work on your communication skills a bit.  I don't mean that as an insult.  I say that because you seem to have difficulty in getting a coherent point across.  I have no idea what you're asking here.

Emma, I know what you're saying. Yahoo answers does seem to dissappoint after a while. It's difficult to get really into your subject when some responders merely criticize. The only solution I've found is to post what you want, take the meaningful answers and let the rest run out of you mind like water and pebbles from a gold pan. Keep the gold, pass over (with the eye and the mind) the dreck and cavils.

Regarding the paranormal, I agree, it is a sensitive issue. It involves the spirit world, which gets you into the subject of afterlife, which is border-lands with religion, and if you want to see some bickering and criticism go to the R&S page.

I usually stick to the astronomy and space category, as I'm an astro-geek. I like to go there because I want to share my enthusiasm with others, and get interesting facts from other astrogeeks. It can get tiresome when all the questions are re-runs (do aliens exist, is the world going to end in 2012, were the Apollo landings faked, is there an end to space, etc)

I particularly hate the notion that Apollo was faked, and will get somewhat aggressive in my answers, based on the attitude of the asker, or of the "you bet it was fake" type answers. Others get worse than me about it - one lady usually just responds: reported as troll

Part of it is ego too, because I like being a know-it-all, at least on some level, but that's usually only a tagalong reason, while the main reasons I stated above are by far the strongest.

I've only asked one question as a sort of "chat with the usuals" post, but I didn't feel odd about it being 'out in the open' Let's face it, on the Internet, you're a screen name, an avatar, and a stream of text. Let it all hang out!

I found the answers paranormal group by Googling stuff on line.  I found that people have a lot of questions about stuff I have been living with for over fifty years.  I am here to help and give advice when possible and have a little fun some times too.  I think many people don't understand that this is a world wide forum. Some people here are rude to others,  some people make no sense with the questions they ask too. But if you put down your ideas and questions, most of the time you will get good answers from both sides.  It is up to you to decide what you want to believe from the answers. One thing I have found is some people will go out of their way to mess with you sometimes.  When that happens I just stay away for awhile then come back in a few weeks. I feel helping others is more important worrying about the small stuff.

Emma:  You know what you know.  What these folk here who believe they know something different have to say about it really just doesn't draw any water.  Every kind of knowing has the moral equivalent of fluffy bunnies, and it seems a lot of fluffy bunnies of the paranormal happen to call themselves 'investigators'.  Same as the fluffy bunnies of science call themselves PHDs.

It really doesn't mean a thing, what they say.  Post what you like and if you don't like the answers just consider the sources of them.

Some people on here are rude & cruel. That's what thumbs down & Report are for. Just because some people say these hurtful things...doesn't mean others agree with them. Please notice that a lot of these type answers come at the first...BEFORE the "regulars" get on and start answering. These "first answerers" are usually the one from the General Category that this goes to first...BEFORE it gets to the Paranormal etc.sections.  They only care about points..and/or making crack comments.  You just have to get past them before you get to us.  Hopefully, most of us here have enough  skills in manners to answer in a nice way. Just try to make like a duck and let it roll off you like water off a duck's back.  We know that you are an intelligent person and have done some admirable things in your life. I'm sure your father is proud of you. I'm sorry if I or anyone else has answered in a bad way. Please don't hold it against all of us. This IS  the Paranormal Section and we need to answer with paranormal answers. (Me include).

Edit..I think we should be able to have fun in this section without stooping to hurting others.

Edit.."yer"...I agree with you about R&S. I don't even "stop in for a visit" anymore.But, I've found that it's not the only one that has this problem. I've visited other sections that complain of the same thing. I think it just has to do with people being different from one another. Guess it really does"take all kinds"! I think we do pretty well in "overcoming" our disagreements. At least we're able to "express" our opinions. Guess that's called "freedom of speech". If we said the things we say on here  in our regular lives...we'd be in deep mud!
