  1. YES !!!

  2. Depending on where you live its very possible.  Most of the middle of the US gets electricity from coal power plants.

  3. The mix of electric generation varies by country and by region.  In the USA, roughly half of all electricity is generated from coal (see EIA link).

If an activity turns long-term fixed carbon into CO2, or releases methane or other greenhouse gases, it's a contributor.  This means using fossil fuels, draining peat bogs, or allowing landfill gas to escape to the atmosphere, to give a few examples.

  4. yes there are many electrical power generation plants that operate by burning coal.It is the smoke or fumes from the burnt/burning coal that causes the pollution in the atmosphere

  5. There are some coal burning power plants although it is an exception more than the rule.  Most are either nuclear or burn oil.

Global warming is caused by greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. The gasses fill up the atmosphere trapping the sunlight in and heats up the earth. Ways to prevent it is planting more trees and other plants to take in the carbon dioxide that fills up the atmosphere and traps the sunlight, and at the same time plants/trees release oxygen, which helps us. Another way is to stop using objects that emit gasses. j
