  1. Yes, Cynthia, they do have hummingbirds in CT. The feeders do also work. Hummingbirds are not up north for long, usually only May thru August. They are one of the first birds to migrate at summer's end. You should still be able to attract them this summer with a new feeder, especially if there are still other flowers in the area that they like. You can hang the feeder close to the house, especially because they are so tiny and you want to SEE them (right?), but not too close. The best time to see them is early morning, 5am to 8 am and very early evening 4pm to 6pm. They will come back during the day to feed also. They are usually there for less than a minute at a time, so watch carefully. They will come back regularly as long as they know there is a RELIABLE source of food there. Once you do attract them, keep the feeder full so that they continue to come back. Watch out, the feeder can attract bees and wasps. You can put a wasp trap out near the feeder to help with this problem. I hope you are able to attract some hummingbirds, they are very beautiful. Good luck!
