Do we have a hance at adopting this child(read on)?

Ok well my parents are foster parents and have been for about 9 years. We live in WEST VIRGINIA if that helps. IF we have the boy the full 6months which is required could we adopt him. OK well he had a 9 month old brother who is mother beat and caused very bad brain damage so he is blind def and had a stroke. So the mother is in jail. THe little boy we have is ok though. So the mother is white and so is her husband but the children are half black. Both the fathers signed away rights at birth. But the mothers husband(who is also white is on Chase's (the baby we have) birth certificate. THe father is trying to get him but his odds are very unlikely, the white man's parents are trying to get him. Do they have the rights. I mean there son is on the birth certificate as the father but he as well as everyone else knows he isn't.

  2.     There's always a chance, but who knows what the court will decide.  Be prepared to request and pay for DNA testing to prove this man is not the child's father.  The fact that he did not protect the younger child and they wouldn't let him keep the child but chose foster care speaks loudly that the system doesn't want him to have the boy.  Speak with the caseworker and see what their feelings are about who should get this child.  Their testimony carries a lot of weight.  This child is very lucky to have people who love him enough to fight this hard.
