  1. I have not heard or read about these companies in Canada.  

    An employee's penson plan is generally locked in (no withdrawal or transfer out) after the employee's 50 yrs old but before the retirement eligible year at age 55 or 60.  I would not think there will be a big market for this, considering that only abt 30% of cdn employees have a employer pension, and not many would sell these lockin-in pension.  Companies buying these locked-in pension plans need to determine (a) the present value of the possible future yearly income stream after retirement, (b) health of individual, the expected life expectancy and the death benefits from the employer, (c) the future interest rates, etc.
