Do we have enough time, and how would we do this?

I want to organize a charity walk in DC with two of my friends. This is in an effort to save Darfur. We want this walk to be held some time in July or August. How would we go about doing this, and when would we have to start planning? How do we get the word out that we want to start a charity walk? How do we advertise, and who do we contact for help? We want to make as much money as possible, but basically have no clue where to start.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would start with your school/work and go from there.

Ask everyone you know to help you. Enlist people to donate water/snacks help with advertising etc.

Call all the local companies about sponsering your walk in exchange for advertising.

Make an awesome poster and post them all over. like everywhere. Once again you will need more people to help with this.

Have sign up forms and call local compainies to start sponsering teams, and maybe organise a prize (from a sponser) for the top 3 teams/people that got the most sponsers. (I don't know how you were planning to earn the money but having people get sponsers is the best way)

Also you need to find a place to do the walk.

if you are in school, get it to be a schoolwide preject and enlist help from teachers, other students and the principal.

If you are work aged (I don't really know how you would go about this) but try and make it a project for you're whole company/wherever you work
