Do we have just 30 or 40 years left on Earth?

If steps aren't taken to stem global warming, "We'll be eight degrees hotter in 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow,"

No, I think it will be cooler and atmospheric CO2 will continue to increase as China and India's demand for fuel dwarfs the USA's.

Just give the extremist a few months and there will be another pandemic on its way, comet speeding towards us,earthquake or Title wave getting ready to happen, and they'll all be experts in the field saying so for a 1/2 million dollars a shot! All for the money....

I think we are gonna be just fine until we die and I'm not gonna worry about. I'd give 10 to 1 odds The human race will wipe it's self out before anything else does. OH WELL!

no i think we have more time because the crops will adjust, however, water will rise because the glaciers are melting. they began melting years ago.

Nope.  We're tough.  That doesn't mean it won't be very bad, however.  Your two choices are a phony choice.

It won't be a Hollywood movie style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.

Well, the extremists are always gloom and doom. They want to ruin the perfectly functioning society, for reasons I don't even understand, by trying to convince us that we're gonna die because of global warming. When in reality, that asteroid slightly veered toward Earth is a way bigger threat than any global warming scare. Psh.

OK. I don't believe humans are going to be whiped out. What I do know is that if things continue the way they are than mass amounts of animals will be whiped out...affecting everything. The rainforests will be gone in 2030:becuase we are cutting them ALL down. Ocean life is going to be gone by 2050:over-fishing, rise in sea level temperature, pollution, waste. We are killing our planet. Stope arguing about global warming and start supporting the environment. Killing off wildlife is what is at stake and that is a fact!

Its just babble from someone wanting to scare you. The fact is the temperature of Earth is impossible to change. That is on average the global temperature will never change because the energy required is just not available. On a local level climate change can raise and/or lower the temperature as we see in Europe fro example, but overall the average temperature of the planet does not and cannot change no matter whatever they might say.

I predict that in the next 30 or 40 years it will rain gold & diamonds all over the earth due to a freak volcanic eruption, money will become worthless & people under 40 will become an important source of protein but they will quickly become so hard to catch that many of us will starve.

Just want to add some towards to points that the Core of every problem that we face today - Poverty, Unemployment, Illiteracy, Water Crisis, Starvation, Inflation, Global Warming, etc.

You talk of any problem - the Core and the origin of every problem is Population.

Where is the Human population Going? Are we really worried about the consequences of this?

We talk of development, where is it taking us. We have already over utilized the resources and now it has come into the category of exploitation. Continuous manufacturing and use of Non Bio-Degradable products, Pollution, Acquiring lands from Forests, Cutting of trees, and on and on and on.....

Instead of acting on the core problem:- we fight on political grounds, nuclear capabilities, religious beliefs and what not?

Hit the Population, just ask yourself these questions:-

Why cant we encourage single parenthood? (WE HIT POPULATION GROWTH AND HELP ORPHAN CHILD BOTH AT THE SAME TIME WITH THIS)

Why cant we educate on Preventive measures on Birth Control? (MEDITATION AND SELF CONTROL COMES FIRST, THE MODES AND MEANS COMES NEXT)

Why cant we encourage g*y Marriages? (GOD HAS CREATED A WAY TO MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY AT THE SAME TIME CONTROL THE POPULATION)

Why cant people encourage God's Path of Exile (to become Nuns and Brothers). (NO PARENT WANTS IT - IT WOULD DEFINITELY GIVE A PATH TO THOSE WHO ARE OF THAT MENTAL STATURE ALSO STRENGTHENING THE RELIGIOUS BELIEFS)

We need to educate , encourage and change the normal social structure that we have formed, the parameters we have set for ourselves as per the society. Every Parent wants their child to be successful, smart, married and parents of their grandchildren.

Every Parent should realize their duty towards society and their children. Every Child is born with a gift and approach towards life. Let them put their gift to the betterment of the society rather than pressurizing them to pursue the normal social path set by the social structure.

Whatever you do Please control the Birth Rate and things would be much better then they seem.

I remember Ted Danson proclaiming that the oceans were doomed in 10 years and that was 20 years ago.  Ted Turner probably just missed his feeding time.  I would be very very careful around him during feeding time.

It won't be gradual, it will be sudden.  It's called chaos theory.  System reaches a tipping point then flips to a new chaotic attractor. When?  Who knows.  But if you kick the system hard enough it will flip eventually.
