Do we listen to our subconsious?

You can't lie to yourself. So your subconsious can't lie to you. Does our subconsious know what is best from our conscious mind? Is it simply a separate entity of ourselves that we should consider? If it gives you an answer to a specific situation, do we listen to it? What do you do?

  1. Subconsious mind is like an entire industry working on many many levels to achieve the goals written by consious mind.

Subconsious mind is trying to reach what goals u feed it.

The really good part is that in this way you can reach the goal of riding a bike without being aware of every detail.

The really bad part is that whenever you change ur mind about past goals (that subconsious mind is reaching again and again), the subcoscious mind will be ur greatest enemy, at least for a month:P (it takes like a month for the subconscious mind to understand the new objective and to adapt to the new course)

When in childhood, your mother and father have written the goals in ur brain. U didn't have a choice back then.

Now ur brain is achieving those goals, good or bad. Brain is not moral. It just attains goals.

So, it's like riding a car. A super complex car.

Or you are the boss of an entire industry of creation. Your subconsious mind can create almost anything you demand from it.

Yes it takes time for it to learn how to reach the objective, but it knows its business.

All you have to do is to expose your brain to the activity u want to master.

For example, u want to learn piano. Focus on the objective, on the goal of mastering the piano, expose ur brain to the piano and let the brain learn.

The way brain learns is by mistakes. But the brain doesn't know really when a mistake happens.

And this is our role really. To decide what is wrong and right relative to the goal. And the brain will do the rest, u will be amazed...

The problem with people is that, they take mistakes as awful, and bad, and they beat themselves up for mistakes that cannot really be undone because no one can undo the past right?

And u know what? the brain will think: "well, that's the goal: to complain and feel guilty about events"

And you know what? it will create more events for u to complain about...

So, either u want or not, ur subconsious mind will listen to your choices and goals.

And the biggest goals are those set in the childhood. And u have to be very careful about them. To see if they are positive from your point of view, or not...

Good luck and hope I helped:P

  2. No, you can't lie to yourself and your subconscious is trying to tell you this. But its message will come in disguise. Under the form of dreams, for instance, the message comes disguised, as your ego is trying to protect himself. Same will happen with various acte manques, or forgetting of names, or slips of the tongue - which are described by Freud in 'The Psychopathology of Everyday Life' - the message will come as a form of symptoms by means of which you will betray yourself, no matter how much you are trying to be in denial.

Considering that we usually protect our ego by means of defense mechanisms, we try to silent our subconscious. We repress and try hard to forget, but it is impossible, we keep staying in denial and we are not always honest with ourselves. Being honest is the key to be healthy mentally, otherwise many other complications may arise under the form of more severe symptoms.

  3. Actually, you can lie to yourself.
