Question:

Do we listen to ourselves?

I am not here to take sides or even debate politics necessarily. The candidates are not the ones who are pissing me off. When I see someone saying that times are not hard, simply because they still have mommy and daddy's wallet covering all of their expenses, that pisses me off. Is that how out of touch and spoiled America has become? There are people out there suffering more than ever now, and because you don't see them and because you didn't see them before times got to this point, you think that nothings changed because nothing has changed in your superficial lives? What's pisses me off is when gas is $4.00 and food prices are beyond ridiculous, and $25,000 dollars a year, which used to be enough pay for someone just graduating college to get by on, now barely covers the necessity and someone says that they don't see why people are saying things need to change? I honestly hope that none of you vote, because besides what's being fed to you by magazines and radio and political analysts ( who are just human like you and I) none of you will actually take the initiative to sit and discover the facts on your own. Some of you just decide to vote party because that's all you know. Didn't anyone ever pay attention in history class? Of course not, because if you had you would know that breaking into parties was one of the vary things this George Washington warned against.

  1. Hi,

It's difficult to find the right one isn't it?  I have a similar problem to you so have just started looking at some college videos that are proving very useful. They have lots of info and students opinions on best, cheapest etc. If you think they could be helpful to you too you can see them for free at http://www.free-college-videos.com

    I hope that helps.

  2. Very well-said indeed!

This is real life...take off  your materialistic force-fed blinders and actually see what is truly happening in this once-great country of ours....

  3. Good rant! Valid points. And just this past weekend I discovered that they apparently don't even teach history anymore in high school. My senior didn't know who Abigail Adams was or who wrote the Declaration of Independence or why. Or tell me who the Federalists and the anti-Federalistss were. My God! How can a student get to be 17 and not know these things! Sad. Sad. No one pays attention to anything anymore.

  4. People in this country stopped listening to eachother a long time ago. We let lobbies and special interest groups do the talking now, and it's destroying our political system and any respect we ever had for ourselves, eachother, or politicians.

  5. I like the fact that in the US, it takes both parents working and perhaps a part time job for one of them as well, to make enough money for a family of 4 to live on.

Like George Bush said, "You have 3 jobs, that's uniquely American."

In other countries, it is mandated by the government, that all people get a 4 week vacation and paid holidays. Other countries have good economies, too. We all thought a union was great when Poland stood up to the communists, but not in this country.

We are hypocrites when we say we put family first. If we put family first like the Palins put family first, I think our priorities are screwed up.

  6. you can only do your part as one person.  Getting upset will not help save the masses.  Try to figure out how to make the people in your life more aware.  Keep kicking.  The end result may not be too big, but how do you know there is not enough people in the world like you, to atleast try.  If we give up, we die.

  7. If you haven't already you should check out the book "Just how stupid are we? Facing the truth about the American voter" by Rick Shenkman.

I stopped reading it for a while as it was quite depressing.
