I asked this in a different category, but didn't get much response. I'd like to try it out here.
I recently watched the biography of the music group The Temptations and when it was over i was left feeling very disheartened. I kept thinking, so that's it? All that sacrifice and struggle to end up with bittersweet memories? That can't be right can it? Or can it? Is "the ride" the reason for living?
Synopsis: A couple of guys had a dream to sing together and made it happen. They produced incredible music, became famous, had money etc. Some of them squandered the money, got involved with drugs, became greedy and jealous and were either fired from the group or left of their own accord. One committed suicide. New members came and went, the group got older and started having health issues. Eventually the original group reunited. The reunion went sour and they disbanded once again. Now old, one by one the members died. All that survive now are 2 I believe. There's a scene towards the end that shows the guy who started it all (the dream) in his mom's house looking wistfully at the awards and pictures of the group and remembering a time when they were all on stage having fun. The End.
What do you make of it?
