  1. No.

  2. not in the nostalgic sense but as a marker of where we've come from

  3. i think if  one right here told you they missed it they would be lying to you and to themselves, they just put such things away.

  4. Well philosophy is timeless.  Being civilised is a different thing all together.

The emperors would wax philosophically, but they were still blood thirsty barbarians.

We can't miss being non-philosophical, as we always have been.

  5. No we don't really because once you have exited the cave into the blinding sunlight you can't accurately remember your thoughts pre-exiting the cave.

  6. In the sense that ignorance is bliss, yes.  Kowledge brings upon us the onus of responsibilty with all its accompanying pressure and stress.  Wisdom amplifies this plight all the more.

Yet, philosophy is the love of wisdom. As such, the part that is love means that we embrace the heavy burden wrought by wisdom.  Miss it?  Perhaps it is like missing the good ol' days when you loved corn dogs and cotton candy.

Nonetheless, we know that the passage forward brings challenges we embrace, albeit even with the occasional bout of trepidation.
