  1. Yes. My son has thousands of rupees worth military games, toys etc.

  2. No we don't, but we are ruled by the military-industrial complex, and a pride complex as well (we are the superpower).

  3. Such a question coming from a military man

who is on the verge of retirement is not only strange but speaks volumes about our defence

forces and government in a negative way.One can not only see but also feel your frustration at

probably the none-too-satisfactory way people at your level are treated. It should also be an eye opener to the powers that be both in the

government and the forces that not everything is as hunky dory as they think it is with

discontent down the ranks rearing its ugly head

and which does not augur well for the nation.

There seems to be something seriously wrong with the Indian armed forces even if one

man is bitter about the working conditions

particularly at the time of his retirement.

Anyway reverting to your main question,

constant updating of military ware is essential

to serve as deterrent to thwart any misadventure by our neighbors. It is a necessary

expense which cannot be grudged or even scrimped. But what is of relevance here is "how

do we ensure that a) middlemen are eliminated

from defence purchase deals and b)there are no kickbacks involved. Now this is a different ball game altogether and requires immediate

    addressing.

  4. government can never reduce poverty except by reducing taxes. anyone who thinks otherwise can see for themselves the 'poverty-alleviation' schemes and their results.

we do not need billions of rupees worth militarywares, but we need something to defend ourselves against our dear neighbours. remember ashoka: when a woman, a nun i think, asked him why he, a buddhist, kept a big army. he replied, "only i have embraced buddhism, not my neighbours"

add: no, i do not advocate mass conversion to buddhism. sorry if my answer appears so. and being a buddhist does not  make one peace-loving; genghis khan was a buddhist! what i meant was, even though, or even if, we want to reduce our spending, our neighbour's design on us compels us to spend billions on armament.

  5. Thinking about everything that goes on in the world. All the wars and the fights between us. We are brothers, we are not bound by blood and even by race.

But still we are brothers. We have the same creator. We want everything to change for all of us and make our lives better. Wishing instead of war , to have unity among all the countries

In the world and wishing all sickness and poverty. And with all the changes happening All we need is love, harmony, and peace For all humanity. Let us forget about our difference

And our cultural block. Let us become one Under one banner, The banner of peace and love.

  6. i totally agree, i mean pakistan dosent have the balls to attack India anyway then why dose India spend's so much money on military. the goverment is quiet corrupt and dosent really spend much money on education, yet india is the third larget producer of engeeniers behind USA and china. just imagine if the country would spend half as much money on education as it spends on the military.

  7. can you phrase your question in english please?

  8. sad but true

  9. ya  we need billions of Rs for the safety of our country due to its geographical position and history of wars with India and china,

India is wast country with problrm in north east, high difficult condition iin leh, ladhakh, Kargil, where one cup of coffee cost to 1000 Rs , even then the pay scale of Indian army are very poor and working condition  is very difficult

This is the price we have to pay for the safety of our country which has history of invasion  of 1000 years

  10. I totally agree with out. The government should concentrate on more important things like education and reducing poverty. But then you can never know when an enemy will declare war.

  11. I completely agree!
