  1. I live in South Cambs and had to apply for permission, they won't turn you down but they will expect you to take it down if you don't ask first.

  2. Well, everyone got them where I live - so I wouldnt worry, just put it up!  If anybody moans, they`ll let you know wont they?

  3. It depends on where you live. Are you living in a conservation area? The easy way to check is to phone your local council and ask

  4. Yes you do, but not everybody does, especially if it is not in a prominent position. Neighbours could complain, if they objected for some reason.

  5. Have a quick look on your council website, there's probably a Planning FAQ or phone number... don't bother giving your name and address, if you have to phone, just ask.

"Motorised" makes me think that in some areas you may have to, but it would probably depend on all sorts of things like which way it is pointing, and whether anyone else has one, and if you are listed or what-have-you!
