Our pool is above ground and our summer's are in the high and low 80's. We have almost no sunlight on our pool. Would we be able to maintain our pool in the 75 degree range without a heater?

  1. We used to have an above ground pool in the same situation when I was growing up.  It was pretty chilly.  In fact, 75 degrees is cool for swimming unless it is a HOT day. With the temps dipping lower than 75 at night and not much sun your pool is going to stay pretty cool.

  2. We live in Southern California. We have an in-ground pool,in full sun. It gets up to 115 degrees, but normal is about 100.(Air Temp) If we didn't heat our pool, I doubt if it would reach 70. With out sun,and only temps. in the 80's, I doubt if you will reach 75 water temp. Sorry, but that is only my guess. I could be wrong. Good Luck, enjoy,Byee

  3. you might be able to keep a constant 75 degrees but if there is a lot of     tree over hang  i doubt it.being the owner of a swimming pool company that much shade tells me   no you need   to     .keep in mind if you heat pool constantly with a heater your clorine will fade out faster and you run the risk of getting algae faster. trim trees back so pool gets more sun light and pool water should heat up naturaly with  out any problems

  4. I think Pool heaters are silly. Pools are for cooling off.

    It should be warm enough.
