They fill the landfills, clog drains, are dangerous to wildlife, so yes, I think it's a good idea.  

It's already happened in San Francisco (just the handled shopping bags), and the change has been quite easy.

Yes, it takes too long for them to breakdown, they hurt the environment, animals get tangled in them.

did you know that your account is now over drafted you need to answer some question's  now plastic bags yes if we all just used a reusable bag one made of cotton not paper we are also stripping out our tree's for paper yes but we still need them plastics until we can make into a green plastic

Many of the people where I live use reusable bags and recycle often.
