Do we need to get a Legal Heir certificate for an unmarried daughter who got deceased?

I am trying to get the Provident fund of my sister from the organization and they are requesting to provide the Legal Heir Certificate. Is this certificate required for an unmarried women?

  1. Affidavit of Heirship are common when a person dies without leaving a will and there is very little in the estate.  The deceased person can either be a man or woman, married or unmarried.  The affidavit will contain information about the the deceased, where they lived, their age, marital status, children, etc.  You should seek the help of an attorney.


  2. This dosn't make a lot of sense. do you mean your sister had Insurance which you are trying to claim? If so and you are in the UK phone your nearest probate office who will help you with deceased estates.
