Question:

Do we nominate Liberatore for the most gutless worm ever?

this man has gone on national TV to say that the Blues tanked their last season to get the best draft pick. When picked up by the AFL for his words, he denied the lot.

Given that he has spent time recently bagging the Bulldogs, once again to back down when challenged -

Given that he has a history of taunting better footballers then retreating behind the umpire's skirts when retaliated against -

I reckon he's had his three strikes and he should be nominated as AFL Wonder Wuss - AWW for short.

  1. I thought he had already won that award.

  2. Gutless never? Tell that to Matt Knights who got belted up behind play by Libba & Romero. He was a dirty little shitbag on the field.

  3. Wuzz, no I dont't believe  is.

I think we have to take into consideration what has gone on behind the scenes after his comments.

Let's face it Carlton have a bit of a shady history when it comes to the who's who involved at the club.

They've been caught out before and one can only assume that Libba has had a gag put on him.

I think he knows what happened and initially said as much but when it comes to proof to avoid law suits etc, perhaps there are others at the club not willing to back him up for fear of losing their jobs or being sued...................

The rules need to be changed to avoid such speculation.

Only allow 1st pick in the draft for the side finishing last and put them in a ballot for priority picks with the bottom 4 sides

  4. I would have to say that Liberatore has never been gutless in his life.

We may agree or disagree with what he said, but at the end of the day, he has to live with it.

After the career that he has had, i'm pretty sure this little guy can handle a few insults!

He was one of the toughest 'little guys' in footy!

  5. nah i dont think so , he is just telling him story

  6. The most gutless worms ever do not need to be nominated for such a prestigious award...they fully earn it on their own accord.

Liberatore only said what everybody already knows anyway, probably just to get an extra 15 minutes of fame.

  7. Sorry mate

Libber is about 5 foot nothing and played hundreds of games at the top level

    Head down into the pack

    Gutless never

    Controversial yes

  8. MONEY TALKS!!!!

  9. He is the smallest man in AFL in more ways than one.

  10. I respect a man who is willing to stand up and tell it as it is and that is exactly what Liberatore did. True or not (and without the details i cant judge)  carlton do have a dodgey past and they will be judged guilty unless they can stand up and prove otherwise.

I  think its the pot calling the kettle black though let yee who has never sin cast the first stone. no club is angelic in this competition and any club put in the position that carlton was in would seriously consider tanking it to get a n.o 1 draft pick no matter what they say.

  11. Carlton had an ordinary team anyway.  In retrospect, his views could hold merit.

I doubt that the 18 players who stepped on the field would throw games to get favourable draft picks.

Liberatore should have chosen his words more wisely, but there's every chance that he was misquoted in the media.

  12. C'MON Seriously do u think Carlton was gnna be wanting to win to get off the bottom, off course they tanked jeez.

  13. Good on you Libber, you told the truth. But seriously does anybody believe their club would have done any different? Libber only said what we all knew anyway.

The real problem is that the rules have never been fixed to eliminate the possibility of tanking. If anyone is gutless it is the AFL "leadership" - for want of a better word.
