  1. It's a lot better than having to use an outhouse.

  2. uh...nope.

  3. yes! with each flush a trillion microscopic organisms spray and float around your bathroom. a toilet is a natural breeding ground for germs , why add to it's ability to cause illness by flushing with unclean water?

  4. get this....

at the state prison, they have a reverse osmosis system (i.e. like Dasani bottled water) for all their water uses. Prisoners are sh**tting in Dasani water and we are all paying for it.

Answer - no it is a terrible waste of resources.

  5. What else are we going to use?  Do you propose that we have two different water sources which would require two sets of pipes?

  6. Yes, my dog drinks out of the toilet.

  7. No. At least not to the extent of what it really should be to drink. Unless your dog drinks out of your toilet that is.

It is often good to have a basic household filter in place. This cuts down on the mineral content in the water and makes the water softer. This means less mineral build up on faucets and in appliances. It also means less soap needs to be used to clean dishes and clothes. It increases the lifespan of your appliances too. It keeps you from breathing in these unneeded minerals when showering too. No more hard water spots on your shower or toilet either.

Now if your water has an odd smell to it then using one of those systems may help there too. Nothing like an odd smelling bathroom even when it is clean. Bad water is usually the culprit. Unless you have a problem with mold that is.

Even with a houshold system it will still be necessary to have a seperate purification system for drinking and cooking with. However, that level of cleanliness is simply not needed for an entire house and would be extremely expensive to purchase and maintain.

  8. The water that is used for toilets is hooked up to the supply line into to your home/ apt. that water is the same as the water from your tap that you drink and it is of the same quality.

However for sanitary reasons that water needs to be clean going in the tank other wise your going to have contaminents from your neighbors homes in you commode.....ICK

that would NOT  be my choice so I suppose the answer would be Yes.

  9. Well, when we flush our toilets let's just say the purity of the water has been greatly compromised.

  10. There are part of world where water is scare and there is limited water to drink, you are asking question on pure quality water to flush toilets!!!

  11. no we don't, but having two seperate lines poses alot more work/risk/problems then anyone is even willing to consider, and for good reason...

  12. no u really dont. because all that water is just going to the sewers with all the pee and waste that goes down there. so unless you plan on drinking your toilet water then it does not have to be pure quality

  13. You don't need ANY water to flush your toilets.  Look up INCINOLETS on the internet.  They have been making waterless electric toilets for like 80 years.
