Do we really save energy during daylight savings?

What evidence is there to support your opinion whether we do save, or if we don't.

When did we start daylights saving and what besides energy conservation, is a good reason to have this?

Thank you. =)

  1. according to latest report last year when W decided to expand daylight saving times by a few weeks, energy use went up, so no, daylight saving time don't really save energy.  this is a comparison between energy use from 2 years ago and last year.  generally, since there's more sunlight, there's less lights on, so during daylight saving time, people do use less energy.

  2. we don't it's just a PITA

  3. No, people drive more, and travel longer during the day. Another hoax like "global warming" BS!

  4. Daylight saving certainly save energy. But it might not be too easy to calculate exactly how much is saved. This depends on the usage pattern of a particular region or area.  During day light saving months, the sun rises early, so it make sense to rise one hour earlier since it is already bright. In the evening, the sun will set later, hence we do not need to turn on the light early, and save electricity.

  5. I hate moving the clock back and forth all the time..."spring forward...fall back"...this is idiotic....why doesn't somenody

who is smart enough to get it done have the clock set one half  an hour one way othe other and let the danged thing alone?  Ben Franklin is sleeping and by the time he awakens, time won't have any bearing anyway!
