Do we want a VP who doesn't know what the VP does?

Do you know what the VP's responsibilities are?

Under the constitution - simple vote to break ties in COngress.

There is no other responsibilities of a VP except if the President assings them.

Heck LBJ wasn't even asked for advice by Kennedy, LBJ wasn't even considered in Kennedy's inner circle

The Constitutional duties of the Vice President vary from the real world duties - which have differed in significant ways from Administration to Administration. I would expect that the President would assign her additional duties as seen fit.

It makes a lot of difference.  The issue is Sarah Palin is clueless and lacks intelligence.  Let me say this....if I were interviewing a candidate for a position on my team (I'm a software engineer), I would want someone who is intelligent and quick thinking.  I would be very disturbed for a candidate to come in for the team job and ask me "exactly what does a software engineer do?" but still expect me to seriously consider him or her.  I would not want to work with another team member who expects me to stop doing my work and teach him or her the fundamentals of software engineering....I have way too much stuff to do.  I want someone on my team that can "hit the ground running" NOW.  

This is why I don't like Sarah Palin because I can tell that she isn't serious nor very bright when it comes to politics and her value is in her genitalia - a way to say "hire me because I'm like you".  Don't buy it.

Also, VP job is not a "make work" position.  This is the person that will run the country if the incumbent President dies while in office.  Another individual pointed out VP Lyndon Johnson.  But, remember...Lyndon Johnson had a tremendous amount of experience as a Congressman.  Then Kennedy died and LBJ became President.  We are talking about the possibility that Sarah Palin "could" be the successor to McCain who is now 72 years old.  BTW, the same issue was brought about regarding Dan Quayle's lack of qualifications when he ran under the George H.W. Bush ticket back in the 1990's.  This is a serious issue, people.

The VP is the backup for the president.  Otherwise they don't do anything.  So to keep busy, they have to do a bunch of nothing work.

Palin may not know what the nothing work amounts to yet.  Good for her.

what we DO want is someone who doesnt ascribe to reckless and unwanted socialism.  socialism and draconian taxation dont work and thats why i will vote conservative.  your question has no answer as your premise has no basis in reality.
