Do we write downtown Vancouver or Downtown Vancouver?

Would I write "I worked in downtown Vancouver" or should I use capital D for downtown?

I don't think it should be capitalized, unless it's the proper name of a district.

Jasmine, I would write it as lowercase.  It is not a part of the name of the city, just an adjective modifying where in Vancouver.  It's kind of like saying, "I live in rural Texas."
