Question:

Do wearing contacts make your vision worse without them?

So my vision from seeing small things from far away is pretty bad, and I will go to the eye doctor to see if I will need to get contacts/glasses. My vision is not terrible. Like I said, I can see fine aside from, say, reading small things on the board when I'm sitting in the back of the class. My vision isn't blurry or anything like that.

So I was wondering if I can only wear contacts for when I go to class or outside but not use them or glasses at home. Will my vision get worse without contacts after I've worn them for a while?

  1. Ask your doctor.  Sometimes glasses are prescribed just for use at school.  If you only need them for school I'd suggest getting glasses.  You might become uncomfortable with the strength during other activities.
