My job decided to train me in a welding position which I have no experience, but I'm excited because it's a new experience. I am not sure what kind of welding it is I work for an automotive manufacturer if anyone can tell me what kind so I can study up on it and if welding jobs pay good I get a raise after 30 days but I'd like to know what experienced welders salaries look like.

  1. Pay is excellent, but like any automotivew job, it may not be as stable as some. But it's and excellent skill to learn.

  2. To be a truly good welder, you need a steady hand, good eyes, and LOTS of specialized education.

Welding is a combination of both science and art. It is not something everyone can do.

It is easy to operate a robitic welding systen, another issue indeed to be a good welder.

Steel is easy and doesn't pay well. Stainless steel, aluminum and especially welding under special conditions (under water, in alaska in the winter, very hot, very cold....) pats ver well. Few can do it.

I recommend a lot of study of electricity,  physics, and chemistry in addition to studying welding technology if you want to make the big bucks.

Add computer programming, automation, and robotics to get truly well rounded.

  3. I live in Manitoba Canada, and my bf is a seam welder.  He makes 17.50 an hour (after 3 years of welding).  I think he started at 12.  His take home pay in 2 weeks is about 1100

  4. yes they do....it pays really well if you know how to read blueprints, it usually ranges from 15 to 30 dollars & more an hour

  5. blue collar jobs tend to pay well enough.  You could probably expect between 10 and 15 bucks to start.

  6. welders in ship industries should be paying well by the empolyer.

But ship building environment is never easy and safety is always the highest priority.

  7. Mig and Tig welding jobs pay fairly well (usually $14.00/hour or more to start). If you can do pipe welding, or Tig on stainless steel, you can usually earn $20/hour or more.

  8. good income, bad healthy.

  9. Welders are paid very well if they are good. Tig Welding is the best, You have a slightly lower risk of burns, they pay better because it is more precise. Mig Welding is flooded with welders because it is easy to do, You get burned more often than any other type, the Pay scale is much lower.Arc Welding is a good choice because alot of Fabricators are looking for them, the market for them is strong because not every one likes all of the smoke. You must practice as much as You can. Welding is not easy, Learn How to read Blueprints and strive to become a fabricator, I welded for 22 years, I made a ton of money. I will retire when I'm 55 because of the money I made. Salaries vary but You can expect to add at least 3 or 4 dollars more an hour to what You are making now.
