  1. I think No

  2. i am not sure let me ask the blue whale

  3. why would u want to know.....

  4. No. A period is the shedding of the lining of the womb, which thickens in preparation for pregnancy - if an egg is fertilized, it embeds itself in this lining and begins to grow. If a woman does not become pregnant, the egg and womb lining are discarded - this is what the 'blood' shed during a period is.

In animals, if they do not become pregnant, the womb lining is simply absorbed back into the body. Some people are confused by the bloody discharge seen in cats and dogs when they are in heat, thinking that this is a period. This is not the case - these animals produce this discharge when they are ready to conceive, whereas a period, as I said, is the shedding of the womb lining, after a woman has been 'in heat' and not conceived.

  5. All mammals have periods

  6. All Mammals, except maybe for Monotremes, have periods.  If the eggs of the females are not fertilized when they are in heat, the egg is discharged with the blood that surrounds it, etc.  Many Mammals do not come into heat that often though.  Man, and other primates, it's once a month, but for Whales I believe it's only once a year.  For Elephants, it is only once every two years.

  7. Do you mean overt menstruation, as in shedding the uterine lining (or, more crudely, bleeding from the v****a)? In that case, no. It's mostly primates that have periods. Most other animals go through estrous (going in heat), and reabsorb their uterine lining if they don't fertilize.
