  1. in most cases they seem to think Africans are barbaric and ignorant so I would say no

  2. I somewhat agree with what PrettyJersie said.  I'm so-called, "African-American," and from the hood, and most people I grew up around don't respect S-H-I-T and many of them have literally made fun of people from Africa or the Islands, and I've never actually SEEN a white person doing that, sooo... although I'm sure lots of whites are evil and racist against blacks, don't get it twisted - black Americans are disrespectful as well.

But the main point I wanted to make is this:  MOST American people don't respect ANYBODY'S culture if they don't understand it.  And because the American education system FAILS MISERABLY, most Americans don't understand anything about culture, PERIOD.  Americans are just a disrespectful bunch in general.

  3. It depends on the individual. Being white doesn't automatically mean that he/she hates African culture. I've seen some African-Americans say some nasty stuff about African culture you would not believe it just came out of their mouths.

  4. Historically as a group, absolutely not. In some individual cases, they do.

  5. Their ancestors came from Africa and eventually lost melanin due to no sun in Europe.

  6. Some do.  Some don't.

  7. omg marvin i know- even some aa have no respect for africa or african culture. i know this white english guy who has a Ghanaian wife and kids. he immersed himself in that culture and my German aunt has respected nigerian culture when she's been there for family get togethers. so some do

  8. Depends on the person. Some African people respect European culture others don't and likewise.

  9. Many do not. Many also do not understand the culture, and so even if they say they respect it they may say or do something disrespectful because they just don't understand.

I know I don't understand it, and I don't pretend to understand it. But I do respect it, because I would like people to respect my culture :)

  10. yes, some do. some blacks don't respect African culture

  11. I'm white and I respect all culture, so yes some of us do.

  12. I know I don't I think your culture is disgraceful.

  13. Most white people respect other peoples cultures, so in general yeah.

  14. well, that probably depends on which white person, some don't, i'm white and i do, i respect all cultures

  15. Yes, I do.

  16. um.. not all white people are the same. so to say do "white people" in general is ignorant.

so i guess some do, some dont.

    depends on the "white person".

  17. I do but i dont respect some other cultures. I love african culture tho!

  18. Hey, I know you are concern but not every body think the same. In this world we have Honorable people black and white or yellow and all kind. Yes most white people do respect African and love them too. We won't get confuse and allow the bad eggs to spoil the whole thing.

  19. To really respect African culture i think you have to know it, and I don't think many people do.

  20. some do not, many do

  21. The question is comical to me. No offense but asking if white people respect african culture is a sterotype in itself. Not all white people respect it, and theres white people that do. Just like any race, person, or whatever, depends solely on the individual.

  22. Some white folk do....

    (Some African-Americans do, too.....)

  23. I believe white people respect african culture more than african-americans do.

  24. There are white people who live in Africa so the question is not completely valid.  You are probably asking if Americans who are white respect African culture.  It's a general question and you will get varied answers.  There are many different cultures in Africa just as in every continent around the world.
