Do windows open on cruise ships?

I am going on a Royal Carribean cruise and we have reserved a room with a window. Do the windows open on cruise ships to let in fresh air??

  3. No stateroom window do not open for your safety.

  4. Oceanview windows usually don't open.  If you really want fresh air, you would need to get a cabin with a balcony.

  5. im not 100% positive but i am pretty sure that they do. i mean why would they not open seasickness is going to suck if you cant open a window.

  6. Some cruise ship windows do open, some do not. The biggest advantage to having a window in your stateroom, is so that when you're in it, you have some indication as to whether it's day or night time. Rooms with no windowscan often times lead to oversleeping in the morning, and missing out on some of the fun! There are also rooms that include a balcony with a sliding glass door - and I assure you that these doors do open!

  7. I go on the Holland America line, and none of the windows open, unless you have a balcony room, then there is a door to access the balcony.  Most ships are the same way.
