While good luck is often elusive, bad luck never misses.

I try to find the silver lining and I'm very good at it. Oh, I'm stuck on deployment? I'll make decent money. Oh, the food tastes like it was found under a rock? I'll lose weight. Oh, my husband has a girlfriend in Baltimore? Hey, I get to be single again. I'm way too into this vaguely misogynistic guy who is friendly sometimes and a total basketcase other times? It's like a surprise every day. Sandstorm blowing sand in my eyeballs? It's exfoliating my face as well.

Then again, even if every cloud has a silver lining, lightening kills dozens of idiots every year chasing after that lining.

I like Fereshte's answer.  We make own luck with hard work and ambition.  I have a good life, but I helped make it happen.  Everyday is a learning experience and that includes learning from mistakes.

A female friend once said to me "women can get s*x anytime they want it."  Hence the "getting lucky" part.
