Do women in their 50's go through another change?

My mother is always fussy and complains more now than ever. She usually is nice. Her menopause has been over years ago. Is there another phase women go through due to hormone changes?

When she has a complaint, I listen to her but lately she has not been happy about anything and I'm a little worried.

  1. I guess it's possible. Even after menopause, hormones are still declining, so that could have an effect on her mood. It could also be something else, something you don't know anything about, that has nothing to do with hormones. Only your mother knows.

  2. The menopause goes on for many years as hormones diminish one step at a time.  It's a difficult time for a woman - we have a lot to deal with! - not just hormone problems but the disappointment of everything drying up, dropping off and heading south!!!  Be patient.

  3. Ask her if anything is bothering her.  Could it be that the only time you listen to her is when he has a complaint.  Maybe you could do some fun outings together ,  Movies, shopping, or try a new sport that you would both like to learn.  I learned how to play tennis after age 56 I'm not good but I have a blast and have met other people my age that are just learning

  4. Menopause can go on for years and years. It's not only loosing your periods.
