  1. They do if they are taller!

  2. They did with me. I worked in a shoe store. yes

  3. Not really... We just think men should have more of a 'manly' job... But if that is what they want, then fine. I don't have a problem with it.

  4. Maybe. It depends why he has the retail job. If it's because he's an artist or a musician and needs a day gig, lots of women are into that. If it's because he really loves the job, and wants to be a manager, advance his career, maybe open his own store - we can respect that.

What we can't respect is a man who's in retail because he has no career aspirations at all, and is just trying to pay the rent. When we meet a guy, if we're sizing him up for relationship potential, we want to know that he's got a future. Not that you can't have a future in retail, but you have to have a plan to move upward in some way. You can't still be folding shirts at the Gap at age 40, making 8 dollars an hour, if you have a family to support. I mean, you could, but it's not the life most of us dream about.

And I'm not saying men have to be the sole providers, but they should at least be able to contribute more than a high-schooler would be able to.

  5. Only if they are greedy & shallow. ;)

  6. You do have a "real job", I have worked retail and hated it.  If you like your job and are happy then don't worry what a bunch of mental midgets think of you.  You have a LEGAL job and are taking care of your self, to h**l with them!

  7. then you are looking at the wrong women.  The point is, you have a job!!!!   How many guys don't?  They are out here looking for someone to take care of them.   If some women look down on you, then they are not right for you.   There are some women who may have really good jobs, and if you are secure enough to be with a woman who may earn more than you, then that's cool.  Hey, there will be one who doesnt think your job is so bad.

  8. I suppose if the guy is still a regular associate and has been since getting out of high school....then they may think less of them than some guys.  If the person was in the service or peace corps and just got out or is between other jobs, that would make a difference, also.  Every person has their own story and reason for whatever job they do.  I was even older  than late 20's when I graduated from college with a Master's Degree and had a psych. job in education lined up but it was not starting until early September.  For ten weeks  I worked as a server in a good restaurant and also made french fries and /or was a cashier at a fast food restaurant.  I could not be without a job for ten weeks!!!  We needed the money.

Edit:  Who is the i**** who gives me a thumbs down for no reason?

  9. I think that they do.
