  1. This strategy is not limited to women.  The "insanity defence" has been used by both men and women.  It requires a professional diagnosis of a mental disorder AND evidence that the person was unable to differentiate between right and wrong.  I'm not sure how often the defence is unsuccessful,  but it is usually newsworthy when someone is found not guilty of murder, due to insanity.

  2. Some prefer the fake imitation jail instead.

Think about it.  A woman, (or a man) can make up any excuse they want.  It doens't mean a court, judge, and jury are going to by it. In order to be "possessed by demons" the court will order a psychological exam.  While the PERSON is waiting to go to trial and the the lawyers are going back and forth, the PERSON is going to continually be assessed.  If someone is considered mentally ill, it doens't mean they aren't going to jail.John Hinkley was mentally ill, he never went to jail but he isn't getting out of the asylum yet.  Courts are so on to people with crazy excuses.  Look at the types of people they deal with every day----criminals!

  3. Wouldn't you make up an any excuse just so you wouldn't have to go to "real" jail?!

  4. I think it is absurd that you feel as though this kind of behavior is only seen in women.  I think people in general have motives.  I think overall people know right fron wrong.  I also think that people think they will not get caught, and are some how oddly surprised when they are (of course others thrive to get caught).  I think people will manipulate whatever they need to manipulate to get the outcome of their choice.  This I feel is not limited to one s*x over another.

  5. It's funny, but I was thinking along the same lines as you, but about 'real questions'.

    Sash.
