Do women play polo-the horses polo-?

thanks!i was wondering since i have male friends who play plo but come to think of it i never though or knew of women doing it..nice!

Heck yeah they do! My aunt and sister do. And let me tell ya there dang good at it! lol

Yes, absolutely they do- my sister is a rated player, in fact. I don't share her interest in that sport- I prefer dressage- but once in a while, I enjoy seeing her play. There are womens' polo teams at many universities and colleges, and it is a recognized NCAA sanctioned sport. Polo also has its own association, the US Polo Club, which helps govern the sport at the professional level in this country. My sister belongs to a club which has both men and women, though most of her team mates are men.

I have even seen kids as young as 6 playing polo- and they ride horses, not little ponies, and use adult sized mallets. It's a family sport.
