Like back then and I heard so today that if they need more soldiers all men of age have to go.........did women want that right back then too? How about today?

A lot of jobs back then like working underground in the streets were very hard and dirty work.....did women want that then or now?

Theres a lot of pressure sadly on men to be tough at all times.....do women want the same pressure?

The saying women and childern first like when the Titanic went down.....what if they said men and childern first? Do we really want to be equal?

I want equal rights but how far is this equal thing going?

*Confused.

  1. I think most women want as much equality as they can get. There have been women in the army, women in trades, tough women, and women who risked their lives to save men and children.

  2. I think men are better than women at a lot of things and that women are better than men at a lot of things, therefore we will never be the same, but, in a sense, we can be equal. I know this sounds bad but i think if women are allowed to hit men, men should be allowed to hit women. Just because men are "stronger" doesnt mean they should know better or any of that c**p. Women can cause just as much pain. If a woman smacks a guy, he should be able to smack her right back if she deserves it. An eye for an eye

  3. Yes, I think if a draft is ever reinstated in my country (U.S.), women should be drafted as well as men.

  4. Some do, some don’t. The problem is that many don’t understand that with rights come responsibilities, which is a rude awaking for some, but they quickly learn that that equity as in anything of value has a price.

    For example:

  5. *sigh* I know this comment is going to receive low ratings, but here it goes...

I think having to register for the draft along with men and not being given preferential treatment in the case of a boat sinking would be worth it if it meant that I knew I would be paid the same as a man for doing the same work, that I would never be discriminated against in hiring practices because I *might* have a baby someday, to know that I would be able to obtain birth control as easily as men can obtain condoms, that I can go outside without makeup on and not have to worry about people calling me ugly, to not have to worry about having to prove my innocence if I'm raped, and to know that I won't be called a ***** or a w***e because I want to be as aggressive or sleep around without shame.

You mentioned the pressure on men to be tough at all times. That unwritten law of our culture is in effect because of the same unwritten code that tells women they can't be overly aggressive. So if true gender equality is achieved, men will receive some of the benefits of womanhood, like being able to stay home with their newborns after the baby is born if they want to,  to be able to feel pain or sadness without being called a "p***y" or a "mangina", and to have close relationships with other men without being accused of being g*y.

  6. Yes, equal rights but not equal responsibility.

  7. Of course we want equal rights.  We want to opportunity to do what we want and not the be told you can't do something because you don't have a p***s.  It's about having the choice to do the things you want.

  8. As a Muslim woman I remember never to take my status within the west for granted. I could have easily been born in the Middle East and my story would have been a lot different. I'm not criticising anyone - society, culture and religion all play a vital part in our lives and every culture should not be held up to the standards that we have here in the West. Nevertheless, when I hear of forced marriages, honour killings, illiteracy, the buying and selling of young girls like cattle and the infantilization of women, then I thank God that I was born in the UK to parents who brought me up with the respect for life instilled in me.

Women worked in the mines, mills and factories like men too. The only difference is, they came home and made the tea!

  9. In the Western world women deserve and have equal rights, but modern Feminists confound this whole issue to the point that we're all confused and scared and are resorting to self-destructive behaviour because of this deranged movement.

Every normative man wants for their loved ones to have opportunities.  Some of us may have daughters for whom we want all the opportunities in the world, but modern Feminists have corrupted the very notion of equality and made their focus hatred of men, no matter how much they deny it, simple reading between the lines in any of their "scholarly works" which are utterly lacking in rigour and are highly selective of "facts" will show just how much contempt they have for men.

Please, for your own well-being don't buy the whole feminist hype.  It had good intentions half a century ago, now it's been corrupted into an entirely hateful movement intended to create divisiveness and destroy the natural union that should exist between men and women.  Please don't buy into this silly, hateful philosophy without doing some due-diligence in really looking at the work that is taught at the undergrad level.  It's all about teaching hatred.  There's no place for teaching hatred in University, but somehow Feminists have an exemption to this.

My younger sister got a "D" on her G&WS Final because her teacher was highly misandristic and my little sister didn't feel likewise and didn't wish to espouse this sort of hatred of men, and hence she didn't "fit the bill."  Please don't buy into a hateful ideology.
