  1. Yes, that is why "professional victim 101" is always filled.

  2. I have never taken a class relating to anything about gender or feminism. I haven't even read books written by feminists. And the only self-proclaimed and very active feminist I know is my fiance's sister-in-law.

And I've noticed discrimination against females since I've been a very very young girl. I noticed the first time in grade school just by watching the interactions between adults. I didn't know what it was called, I didn't know why it was happening, but I saw it and I recognized it as poor treatment. As a little kid, I remember thinking that ALL adults were bossy... but male adults were not only bossy to kids but to women. Often. If a little kid who knows nothing about what's going on picks up on it... trust me, it's happening.

And then through life experience and having it happen to me, I have quite obviously noticed.

  3. I don't follow politics, I don't read the paper, and I don't have cable. I trust my instincts. Discrimination to me isn't when a man compliments you in the workplace or asks you out on a date, discrimination is when you are treated as if you are stupid, constantly ridiculed, harassed, and conspired against by the majority of your co-workers and those that are in positions of power over you and even those that are placed in positions to help you, like HR departments and unions, and told you aren't good enough because of your s*x. There are laws that demand employers to hire so many women, but they don't protect the woman from being discriminated against while she is there. I've experienced discrimination and it is very ugly, cruel, and traumatizing to the recipient, nobody should ever be treated that way. It is very difficult to prove and most lawyers won't touch a discrimination case unless it is clearcut, like your boss grabbing your butt or threatening to fire you if you don't have s*x, but some forms of discrimination are much harder to recognize and prove. It is because of this the womens movement has become what it is. I don't understand why we can't just treat each other with respect, even women have bills to pay, and mouths to feed. Stop hating! ;-(

  4. You mean if women need to be taught about discrimination to notice is thesedays ? I would say yes.

  5. LOL!  Yes, a degree in Womens Studies definitely helps! Some people call this education, others indoctrination.

  6. Lot of the black slaves here in the US didn't mind being slaves. It was just the way they thought it was.  Some after being freed stayed with there masters and continued to live as slaves.

Should we have skipped freeing the slaves, so these few who didn't notice could stay happy.  Or does the moral right over rule?

  7. most women notice when they are being descriminated against...you certainly do not have to take a class to see it.

    and to april:

you are thinking of radical feminists, which i do not consider true feminists at all. a feminist is someone who simply wants men and women to recieve fair and equal treatment, at home, in the workplace, etc. They should not desire to be superior to men, because that just gets rid of one oppressive group and replaces it with another. Instead, we should all strive to find a balance, because men and women are equally important.

  8. Women r fine until they get some fancy degree in feminazism and turn into rabid animals with chips on there shouldres

  9. Feminists won't be happy until everything on TV is about why women are better than men. Until that day comes they will always gripe that the media is against them.

  10. If you read some of the answers here, a lot of people still say things like women only think with emotions and can't be rational, are untrustworthy etc. No you don't need a degree in women's studies to know people are still very sexist.
