  1. It depends were you are going to be going to basic. My friend going in the Army will train with women. I am not sure about the other services but I am pretty sure in the Marine Corps they train separately.

(as far as boot camp and basic goes)

  2. I know for a fact, due to my being there, that males and females train together in the Army depending on the base. The Air Force also trains together as does the Navy. The Marines do not train together.  However, those who do train together do indeed have separate m/f barracks, so don't get too excited.

Additons: forts like knox and benning will be male only. Fort Jackson (I was there) will be crawling with females. AIT/"A" school (unless direct combat) will train w/coeds.

Marines may "A" school/AIT together, but their basic is separate. Yes, the females are at the same camp, but training will not be intertwined.

In the Army, during hand-to-hand/unarmed combat training, the m/f would train together. I'm 6'0"  240 lbs. and my sparring partner one match was a 5'4" 110 lbs female. It made it hard to really train because I could've snapped her like a twig. It does have it's very obvious disadvantages...as a father of four, two being female, I would never want them in that situation, and definitely not in a combat MOS.

  3. Depends what country but most countries like Australia have men and women train together because they believe that there shouldn't be any discrimination between the two sexes. I think America is the same but not sure about any where else.

The only thing is they don't sleep in the same Dorms, quarters, whatever you want to call them lol.

  4. yes, they just don't bunk together.

  5. why wouldn't they

  6. All training is conducted together, not separated by gender.  Housing is separate though.  The women go through basic training and all of their advanced schooling just the same as the males.

  7. Yes they train together if they are doing the same job.

  8. anybody know if females are at fort lewis?

  9. It depends on their MOS. Usually, no. And if they do train together, they are housed seperately.

  10. I would sure as h**l hope they would because it may be the guy's only chance before he goes off and gets killed in combat.
