Do women wear underwear when on their period?

I had a friend tell me last night, kind of randomly, "man, it feels so good to wear underwear again!" and I was really confused by that, and she made a comment about having just come off her period and dropped the subject. I was really thrown by it, though, because I always thought that if there was a time to wear underwear, it'd be during menstruation. So, what do you do? I'm female myself, I was just completely thrown by this exchange. I've personally never gone commando, so I really didn't know what to say. XD;

I'd wonder the same thing as you....Very odd.  

First, I rarely (if ever) go commando.  Too much rubbing (when and where I don't want it), for one thing.

Second, if you wear pads, there's no place to stick it to, and even if you wear tampons, it's too easy for the string to leak.

So, I always wear them.  Period or no.  Besides, some of them are sooooo cute!  Wmen are s**y when they wear just a little somethin-somethin'.

Maybe she meant it feels good JUST to be wearing underwear. Im not sure you want underwear to hold your pad in place, and there just in case you have a leak. If she says it again be like "uh arent you supposed to wear underwear when you have your period?" and see what she says..

Of course you wear underwear, especially if you're period is heavy because you might leak..

When I'm on my period I usually wear the black grammy panties that comes up almost to my b*****s. But I only wear them when I'm on my period.

Don't ALL women have "period" panties??? I have a draw full that are only worn while I'm on my period. Couldn't imagine not wearing them at that time, for the same reasons mentioned.

I never wear undies under my pj pants unless I HAVE my period. How would she hold a pad in place? Surely she wont use a tampon all throughout the night

Maybe she feels good to wear underwear again, WITHOUT a pad. I know it feels good because I get tired of wearing a pad, it feels like a diaper. D:

Yes... wear underwear. You could leak during school. I think she means that it feels good to wear underwear without the pad in it...
