Do you, like the majority of baseball fans, believe it will be the Angels and Cubs in the World Series?

The fans aren't even giving the other playoff teams a chance.

***Star if you think someone besides the Angels or Cubs might be going to the World Series.

  1. I think the Angels have a legitimate shot, but I believe it will be them and the Rays in the ALCS. That will be a GREAT series that I can't even guess who would win.

The NL...the Cubs may make the playoffs...they may not. That's not even decided yet, so let's not take a guess at if they will be in the WS. It's quite possible that the Brewers and Cards could go through instead, and possibly even the Astros who have been playing excellent baseball recently (except they just lost Lee for the year). I think the Brewers are my favorite to go through for the NL.

  2. I definetly think you're right. The fans aren't giving other teams a chance, there are many other great teams who are going to make the play-offs. There's a possibility those two teams could make it, but a stronger possiblilty they won't. I think the Cubs may make it and maybe the Red Sox or White Sox, but there's still a bunch more games, so anything can happen. The Angels, may make it to the play-offs, but I think the Cubs might.

  3. It is easy to say the Angels and Cubs will meet in the playoffs because they are the best teams in their respective divisions. But if we have learned anything about baseball, things hardly go according to plan.

Star for you because I think there are other teams that have a good chance to make it.

  4. AL will be either the Angels or Rays. NL will probably be Cubs or Brewers. NL East and West blow.

  5. Both are good teams but I don't see neither one making it to the World Series for the simple reason that first, even though the Angels have best record, they haven't done well in the past when it comes to advancing in the play offs & the Cubs always find a way to lose & if they both make it there, congrats to them both but until I see them there, I am still not a believer & I don't care how good their record is currently

  6. It'll be an NL West and AL West World Series

  7. Every year there are first place teams that can't miss and can't lose, like the Yankees in 02 and the Mariners in 01. The reality is anyone can win come October (see: the fact that at least one wild card has been in every WS since 2002).

The Red Sox can get there regardless of how they've played against the Angels this year (The Indians were 0-6 against the Yankees last season). The Dodgers or Mets can sneak up, and while they're not in the playoff picture at the moment, I wouldn't be ready to count out the Yankees just yet -- they have a favourable schedule in the rest of August.

  8. Right now the Angels and the Cubs are the best from the AL and NL League and it would make sense that both of these teams make it, but history goes to show, that its not always the best teams (record wise and on paper) that make it to the World Series.

Its all good to play well throughout the regular season, win the division and get into the playoffs, but come post-season, its a clean slate for all teams.  Everyone has a chance if they get HOT.

I'm hoping that the Cubs get into the World Series this year.  I'm tired of waiting, as a die-hard fan.  I think this is their best shot so far, but we still have another month and half to play before the playoffs begin. Both teams need to stay healthy, keep pitching well and execute on offense and they will be there.

  9. I think it's too soon to tell. There's plenty of baseball left, and so much can happen in that time.

That said, if I had to say who I thought would make the WS RIGHT NOW, it'd be the Angels & Cubs. But it is way too soon to disregard the other teams.

  10. Hey, I love the fact that everyone is liking the Cubs to be in the WS but I have gotten tired of it. It floods the section and that is not likeable

  11. we all know its going to be the white sox.

  12. well, i'm an angel fan but i'm not going to make any predictions (i don't want to jinx anyone hehe jk jk)

I don't want to get cocky either and say the angels are automatically going to the WS i mean no.. arrogance is never a good thing. I agree with you there are plenty of great teams out there that might and probably will kick some serious tooshy! so..  yeah just too soon to tell right now

i'm takin it one game at a time :)

  13. There sure are a lot of loud Cub fans.... I don't think they are to be worried about. They have not been to the series in over 60 years. They do not scare me at all.

Plus - they make a deal for a top name player before the trading deadline. No team ever does this and then goes on to win it all.
